Warming your feet while icing your neck

Tip from @brainfogdaily_lr on Lemon8. · Read the original post

@brainfogdaily_lr found relief during an attack by wrapping a heating pad around their feet while keeping an ice pack rested against their neck. The approach relies on temperature contrast, keeping one end of the body warm and the other cold. If you do not have a dedicated heating pad or ice pack, a hot foot bath or warm water bottle paired with a bag of frozen peas wrapped in a cloth can create the same effect.

What you'll need

You only need one of these — not all of them.

The original tip uses

Heating pad

or

Ice pack

Hot water bottle or warm foot soak

Bag of frozen peas wrapped in a towel

Good to know

Keep the foot warmth cosy, not hot, and wrap any ice in a cloth. Very cold packs on the neck can trigger rebound muscle tightening, so use short intervals. Sudden temperature contrasts can cause lightheadedness — rest lying down, and skip this if you have circulation problems.
