Covering a blinking smoke detector led for darker sleep
Tip from James Booth on dmarge.com. · Read the original post
One person found that covering the blinking led light on a hotel smoke detector helps create the darkness needed to fall and stay asleep. Even a single tiny flashing light can disturb a sensitive brain during the night. They use an adhesive bandage to shield the light, or a simple scrap of paper as an alternative.
What you'll need
You only need one of these — not all of them.
The original tip uses
An adhesive bandage
A scrap of paper
Good to know
Cover only the tiny led light, making sure not to tape over or block the detector vents and sensor chambers. Remove the covering before checking out so the equipment remains unaltered for future guests.
